Blizzard has published development notes for World of Warcraft Patch 12.1.7, the next Midnight content update, which is titled Echoes of the Worldcore and is now on the Public Test Realm, Wowhead reported. The notes cover a new story campaign, a set of Lorewalking quests, additions to the Omnium Folio and a handful of profession, housing and interface changes.
Story and Lorewalking
The campaign, "The Return to Dornogal," follows on from Xal'atath breaching the Worldcore. According to the notes, the only route to it runs through the damaged Coreway in Dornogal, and players help Arator, Brinthe, Dagran and Brann work out how to reach it.
A new batch of Lorewalking quests is offered by Apprentice Lorewalker Li Li Stormstout in Stormwind and Orgrimmar to characters level 10 and above. Four storylines are available, covering Jaina Proudmoore, Thrall, the Titans and the titan keeper Tyr. Players can ask questions through a button in the Lorewalking interface below the minimap, leave or pause a story at any time, and repeat the experiences. Other quests cannot be taken or progressed while Lorewalking, and starting a different story before finishing the first resets all progress.
Omnium Folio
The update lets players earn two more Motes of Omnial Inquiry and adds two runes. Rune of Empowerment increases the stat granted by the Rune of Critical Power, Burning Haste, Masterful Cunning or Versatile Warrior by 20%. Rune of Critical Mass gives the Core Rune a chance on damage or healing to trigger an extra effect: three Void orbs that damage enemies or heal allies within 5 yards for the Rune of Void-Touched Orbs, or a Fire blast split among enemies or healing split among allies within 10 yards for the Rune of Unleashed Fire.
Professions, housing and interface
- Midnight Herbalism: the Bountiful Harvests specialization grants more Deftness.
- Midnight Mining: the Plentiful Ores specialization grants more Deftness.
- Housing: a fix stops decor rotating when converting between rotation formats; decor is saved in the new format the next time a player edits their house.
- Edit Mode: a new option allows mouse clicks to pass through the Personal Resource Display.
- Transmog: a tooltip now explains that Outfit 1 is the one displayed on the WoW Armory website.
The notes list one known issue on the PTR, affecting the skyboxes in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms for players on Mac clients.
