IO Interactive has released the first major content update for 007 First Light, adding two TacSim missions, three weapons and a new outfit to the James Bond origin story. The drop is free, and it is the first substantial addition to the game since release.
“The Workshop” is a three-tier mission that sends Bond into Q’s workshop for a stealth run, leaning on gadgets and hand-to-hand takedowns to get out unseen. “Extraction Avenue” pulls in the opposite direction, requiring the player to shoot a path through the level before enemy reinforcements arrive.
Both missions sit inside TacSim, the mode where the game’s unlockable gear is earned. Three new weapons and an outfit land there alongside them, each gated behind a clearance level and priced at 3,000 intel:
- Stormberg 50’cal pistol — Clearance Level 10
- DRX-2 Machine Pistol — Clearance Level 12
- DRS-7 Silenced SMG — Clearance Level 16
- Diamond in the Rough outfit for Bond — Clearance Level 18
The download itself is under 4 GB on most platforms, though on PlayStation it weighs in at 23.84 GB. Beyond the new content, the patch is largely maintenance: fixes for crashes on Xbox Series S, animation improvements and corrections to translation errors, with the full notes published on IO Interactive’s site.
This update demonstrates our team’s commitment to refining the 007 First Light experience.
More to come
The update follows a roadmap IO Interactive published in June setting out future 007 First Light content. That plan includes a story DLC mission built around the pirate king Bawma, which has not yet been dated.
007 First Light launched to strong reviews and was treated as a game-of-the-year contender almost immediately; Polygon called it “an incredibly shiny, well-polished game that truly lives up to its name.” The game is available on PlayStation, Windows PC and Xbox Series X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version due later this year.
