A GTA clone books Steam early access for GTA 6's launch day

Brgames Interactive's Phantom Vice Auto arrives November 19, the day Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X but not PC.

Phantom Vice Auto, an open-world crime game from Turkish developer Brgames Interactive, will launch in Steam early access on November 19 — the same day Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Polygon reported the date.

The overlap is possible because Rockstar Games is not shipping Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC alongside the console versions. Rockstar's stated reason is that it prioritises its core audience and develops to fixed hardware specifications first, leaving PC players without a same-day option from Rockstar itself.

What Brgames is shipping

Going by its trailer, which is more than a year old, Phantom Vice Auto offers driving across at least four vehicle types, shooting with a choice of five weapons, pedestrians and parkour animations, set in a Miami-styled city. Its Steam page promises three playable protagonists — described there as a street-smart hustler, a disgraced former agent and a cold-blooded mercenary — and a 32-player mode called Phantom Vice Online.

Polygon notes the store page's framing overstates the project's history, describing the game and its online mode as "upgraded for a new generation" despite Brgames having started work in 2024. The company's website lists three staff at its most recent count.

The date is a conspicuous one to choose. Most publishers have moved their releases well clear of Grand Theft Auto 6, with the surrounding weeks largely emptied out, making a launch on the same day an unusual bet for a small team.

Polygon's piece also sets out the wider objection to releases of this kind: clones and copycats crowd digital storefronts and compete for attention with the smaller studios least able to absorb it, whatever the intent behind any individual project. Phantom Vice Auto's own presentation, from a logo that closely echoes Rockstar's to store copy borrowed from blockbuster marketing, invites that comparison directly.

What buyers will actually get on November 19 is unclear. The trailer predates the current build by more than a year, and Brgames has not detailed a story or mission structure beyond the three protagonists and the multiplayer mode listed on Steam. Grand Theft Auto 6, meanwhile, still has no announced PC date.
