Aion Reforged, NCsoft's new auto-hunt server, goes live on October 20

NCsoft has revealed Aion Reforged, a new server for its long-running MMORPG, and set it to go live on October 20. That makes Reforged the second Aion release the publisher has lined up for next month, alongside Aion 2.

NCsoft describes Aion Reforged as a "new auto-hunt server." The publisher said the Atreia server will offer "versatile progression" through a range of activities including field hunting, fortress battles and item collecting.

What otherwise separates Reforged from the live game has not been spelled out. MassivelyOP reports that players on Reddit have speculated the server may be an import of the Aion Remake server, which would bring more streamlined progression, class revamps, zone reworks and a unified inventory. NCsoft has not confirmed any of those changes.

Pre-registration for Aion Reforged opened this week, with sign-up incentives attached. A separate change lands sooner: NCsoft is merging the Siel and Apsaranta shards into a single Siel realm next week.
