Animal Hospital, a horror game on Roblox in which players work shifts treating patients, opened its second floor in an update released on September 5. The patch settles a question the game had left open, and fills the new floor with a laboratory, a crafting system and a hidden area holding a new character.
The floor itself is compact. It holds two new rooms: a lab room, where players can create serums from patient samples, and a vacant office. An additional vending machine sits alongside them.
Serum crafting and the DNA Sampler
The update adds a tool called the DNA Sampler along with four new items, each used to feed a dish containing a patient sample. Every item is represented by a specific letter, and feeding the dish a particular combination produces a serum that can then be used on a patient to apply an effect, such as changing their size. The four ingredients are:
- Mushroom
- Strange Jelly
- Milk
- Ginger
A hidden room and Squiggles
The lab room also conceals a secret area. In its upper left corner, below the instructions section, is a vent; stepping on it knocks the cap off and opens a way down into a room the map does not otherwise show.
Waiting at the bottom is a clown called Squiggles. In the game’s fiction he worked at the hospital as an entertainer until he was infected with the anomaly virus and began attacking patients. He is locked in the room for now, and a door beside him unlocks a shortcut back to the first floor.
Six new achievements were added to the in-game journal, and a set of new skins for the game’s classes is available to buy. The patch also carries bug fixes, and the developers updated the leaderboards to clear out players who had been exploiting them.
