Apex Legends is getting a crossover event with Capcom's Street Fighter 6, MassivelyOP reported on September 16. The event runs from September 22 to October 13, a three-week window. MassivelyOP framed the event as a test of whether fighting game fans and battle royale shooter fans overlap.
The main feature is a new version of Wildcard mode. Players choose from four kits based on Street Fighter characters, each with its own moves, and play on a version of the Olympus map reworked with a Street Fighter 6 theme.
How the mode works
According to MassivelyOP, players collect tokens scattered around the map to fill a fight gauge. When the gauge is full, they can switch on Fighter Form, which moves the camera to a third-person view and boosts their abilities and movement.
The gauge drains while Fighter Form is active, but players can refill it by landing abilities. Squads that survive long enough reach a final Showdown round. There, the fight gauge never runs out, players can enter Fighter Form whenever they like, and downed or respawning characters are all sent into the arena.
Rewards
Players can earn zenny, the event's currency, by completing challenges, and spend it on a range of cosmetics. MassivelyOP reported that the cash shop will also sell skins for specific characters and weapons. Two more rewards sit outside the event itself: a weapon charm tied to Twitch Drops during the event's first week, and a tracker set tied to a Discord quest.
