Ark: Survival Ascended's Astraeos map has received the Heaven & Abyss update, which adds two new regions, a new warship, a set of new creatures and a Kraken boss encounter, MassivelyOP reported.
Astraeos is the mythical and fantastical map in the game’s roster, and Heaven & Abyss extends it in both directions at once: upward into floating islands and downward beneath the sea.
Two new regions
The update's name maps directly onto what it adds. Helianthos is a lush realm of flowery fields, peaceful creatures and islands floating in the sky. Abyssanthos is its counterpart below the waterline: a deep-sea expanse of enormous air bubbles surrounding a mythical city, with space set aside for undersea base building. The update also adds treacherous seas to traverse and a new warship, the Trireme, for navigating them.
New creatures and bosses
Several new creatures arrive on Astraeos alongside the regions. They include the fiery Boaratos and two new minibosses, the Colossus and the Kroaratos. Above those sits the Kraken itself, a legendary sea monster with two distinct fights — one staged above the surface of the water and one below it.
Astraeos picked up a longer list of additions besides the headline ones, among them new labyrinths to delve, the Grand Tortugar tame and a desert realm called Pyranthos.
