Gameplay Group International and Paramount Game Studios have locked in a release date for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, confirming the title arrives on PlayStation 5 on July 23, 2026. The announcement also unveiled a new stage, laid out pricing for two purchasable editions, and detailed what players get for reserving a copy ahead of launch. PM Studios and Arcadia are attached to the release as well, which draws its cast and setting from the Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra universe. Alongside the release date, the reveal outlined a new arena, a closed beta window, and the first characters locked in for a post-launch content pass.

A New Arena: Spirit Wilds

The reveal introduced a stage called Spirit Wilds, built around the game's elemental combat systems. Fighters can use airbending there to knock opponents skyward or lean on earthbending to reshape and control the surrounding space, giving the arena a distinct vertical and territorial flavor compared to other confirmed stages.

Two Editions, Two Price Points

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game will launch in a Standard Edition priced at $29.99 and a Deluxe Edition priced at $49.99, giving PS5 players a choice between the base package and a step-up option at checkout.

What Pre-Ordering Unlocks

Reserving either edition comes with a shared set of bonuses. Pre-order customers receive gold color variants for six fighters: Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka. The bundle also includes a Samurai Appa skin for the support character lineup and grants voting rights on which character eventually joins the Year 1 Pass. On top of the cosmetics and vote, pre-ordering grants entry to a closed beta test running July 2 through July 5.

Inside the Closed Beta

The beta's confirmed roster spans Aang, Korra, Katara, Toph, Zuko, Sokka, and Azula, and the test period supports cross-play, letting participants match up regardless of platform.

What Ships at Launch

The full release is set to field 12 playable characters at launch, backed by a separate roster of support characters and eight stages. Single-player offerings include a Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Training Mode, Combo Trials, Character Lessons, and a Gallery Mode, while online options cover Ranked, Casual, and Lobby multiplayer.

Year 1 Pass Roadmap

Beyond launch day, a Year 1 Pass will bring four confirmed characters into the game: Uncle Iroh, Ty Lee, Kuvira, and Mako. A fifth slot on that roadmap is still open, to be decided by a vote restricted to players who pre-order.

Who's Behind the Game

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is being built by Gameplay Group International alongside Paramount Game Studios, with PM Studios and Arcadia also part of the publishing effort for the licensed fighter. With a firm release date, priced editions, and a beta window now confirmed, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has shifted from teaser territory into countdown mode, giving fans of the franchise a clear window to test the roster before its July 23 debut on PlayStation 5.
