Battlefield 6 Will Let Players Buy Back Missed Battle Pass Skins, For a Price

Battlefield Studios is giving up a bit of the exclusivity built into Battlefield 6's seasonal content, but it isn't giving it away. Starting with Season 4, players will be able to buy previously unlockable battle pass cosmetics straight from the in-game store.

A second shot at old gear

In a developer blog post, Battlefield Studios said the change grew out of player feedback: people wanted a way to go back and grab cosmetics they'd missed in earlier seasons, while the studio still wanted new passes to feel worth chasing when they launch. The fix arriving with Season 4 brings a selection of past battle pass items back into Battlefield 6 and Redsec's item shop as store bundles. That means soldier, weapon, and vehicle skins tied to a specific season's pass will start showing up again for anyone who never unlocked them the first time. Nothing about the return is discounted or free, though - these items come back at the same prices as any other shop bundle, effectively converting a missed unlock into a straightforward purchase. It's a targeted response to one of live-service gaming's most common complaints: the fear of losing access to cosmetics forever once a season rotates out. Battlefield Studios' framing suggests the studio is trying to thread a needle here, easing that pressure without undercutting the appeal of playing a battle pass while it's current.

What it costs

Battlefield 6's shop bundles currently run from 500 to 2,400 Battlefield Coins, roughly $5 to $20. Smaller weapon bundles sit toward the cheaper end of that scale, while full operator packs - which bundle in more pieces per purchase - land closer to the top.

Not everything is coming back

Battlefield Studios was careful to note this isn't a full amnesty for every missed item. Cosmetics that were originally handed out as instant unlocks through the battle pass or BF Pro won't be resold, and neither will anything tied to the Ultimate or Prestige progression tracks. That content stays locked to whichever season first offered it, so there's still a reason to finish a pass while it's live rather than count on buying your way back in later. The studio also stressed that not all items from a past season's pass will return to the store.

When it lands

The store change rolls out alongside Season 4, which Battlefield Studios says is coming later this month. It follows directly on from Season 3's High-Value Target update, which is the game's current live season. For players sitting on partially finished passes from Battlefield 6's earlier seasons, Season 4 offers a way to close the gap - just not for free. It's a modest concession on fear of missing out, not an end to it, since a sizable chunk of pass-exclusive content is staying off the shelf for good.
