BC.Game have won Elisa Esports Breakout Series 1, beating ENCE 2-0 in the grand final of the $17,163 Finnish tournament, HLTV reports. The series finished 13-11 on Mirage and 16-13 on Nuke.
The event was the first outing for a rebuilt BC.Game roster that installed Emil "Magisk" Reif as in-game leader and reunited the Mongolian pair of Ayush "mzinho" Batbold and Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold. Those changes reset the team’s position in the Valve Regional Standings, leaving it to rebuild its ranking from scratch.
A clean run through the round-robin group stage put BC.Game back on the board at 150th. Senzu and Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev then posted 1.84 and 1.76 ratings in a semi-final win over SINQU. ENCE arrived in the final from the other side of the bracket, having gone unbeaten in Group A before beating HAVU.
A final decided in overtime
ENCE were competitive on Mirage, leading early as BC.Game managed impact only through Senzu and mzinho. The Finnish side converted the pistol round after the side swap and moved 11-6 ahead, close to taking BC.Game’s map pick, before the Mongolian duo anchored a defensive run that closed the map out.
Nuke reversed the pattern. BC.Game recovered from an early run of lost rounds to lead 7-5 at the break and extended that with a pistol round and its conversion. ENCE’s younger roster held on through several disadvantaged late rounds and forced overtime from 9-12 down. In the extra rounds s1mple produced an AK-47 four-kill and won a 1v3, and Denis "electroNic" Sharipov took a 1v2 two rounds later to settle the title.
Senzu finished as the highest-rated player at the event, averaging 1.48 across seven maps. The win moved BC.Game to 84th in the Valve Regional Standings, back inside the top 100.
The team next plays the Esports World Cup Open Qualifier, which runs in Paris from August 7-9 with up to 128 teams competing for four places at the $2,000,000 main event. HLTV reported 64 teams signed up on the tournament page at the time of publication, among them Liquid, BIG, HEROIC and 100 Thieves.
