BESTIA have appointed Gustavo "tge" Motta as head coach of their Counter-Strike team, HLTV reported on July 23. Afonso "shaRpy" Bastos, who had been leading the Argentinian organization's coaching staff, moves back into an assistant role under the new hire.
The appointment ends a short spell out of work for tge, who parted ways with RED Canids earlier in July. That exit followed the Brazilian organization benching its entire roster three months earlier and making every player available for transfer.
During his time in charge at RED Canids, tge took the team to the StarLadder Budapest Major and IEM Rio 2026. Before that he coached 9z, whom he guided to a semi-final finish at IEM Dallas 2024.
A mixed start to the season
BESTIA come into the change after an uneven opening to the new campaign. The organization held on to star rifler Tomas "tomaszin" Corna through the off-season despite links to Legacy, but Nicolas "buda" Kramer's side lost to Sharks in the semi-finals of the South American qualifier for BLAST Open Porto and finished second to Imperial in the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 South America Series 2.
Neither result was a disaster on its own, but together they left BESTIA short of the deep runs the roster was assembled for. The coaching reshuffle is the first structural response, and it arrives with the South American calendar already underway rather than during a quiet stretch.
With tge installed and shaRpy retained in support, BESTIA's line-up is now:

- Nicolas "buda" Kramer
- Ignacio "nacho" Rodriguez
- Cristhian "timo" Perez
- Gustavo "tge" Motta (head coach)

The player five is unchanged, which makes the coaching bench the only moving part in this move. BESTIA have not said when tge will make his debut on the sideline.
