BIG beat Aurora in their opening best-of-one match at the EWC, according to HLTV. The German-majority squad carried their strong form from the qualifier into a convincing win on Cache. BIG are one game away from EWC playoffs after the win.
Aurora could not handle BIG's pace and teamplay on Cache, HLTV reported. Despite winning both pistols, Aurora were dominant in the gun rounds, with the 13-9 scoreline flattering them. BIG's tactical play outsmarted an Aurora side still getting to grips as an Anglophone team.
The loss was a tough game for Jimi 'Jimphtat' Salo, who had a -7.80% swing, according to HLTV. Aurora will face the loser of M80 - G2 for elimination, while BIG will face the winner for a shot at the round of 16. Elsewhere, Luminosity were swept aside by GamerLegion 13-3, continuing to struggle without old in-game leader Jack 'Gizmy' von Spreckelsen.
