Bill Skarsgård will play the lead role in PHYSINT, the action-espionage game in development at Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima announced at the close of the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast, according to Xbox Wire.
Kojima also shared a new poster for the game featuring a photograph he took himself of Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser, who was already part of the cast.

In the same press statement, Kojima said costume fittings, scans and camera tests conducted with Skarsgård and Fraser earlier this year had given him confidence in the direction of the project. Skarsgård joins an ensemble that includes Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe, and Kojima said further casting updates would follow.
Skarsgård's screen work
The Swedish actor and producer is best known for playing Pennywise in It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019), a role he reprised in the HBO Max prequel series It: Welcome to Derry (2025), on which he was also an executive producer. His film credits include Barbarian, Nosferatu and John Wick: Chapter 4, and this year he appeared in Gus Van Sant's Dead Man's Wire and in The Death of Robin Hood. Xbox Wire listed Peter Berg's The Mosquito Bowl and Andrew Niccol's Lords of War, opposite Nicolas Cage, as his next films.
OD and the Xbox partnership
The broadcast segment also included a development update on OD – KNOCK, with behind-the-scenes footage of stars Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer in a performance capture session.
The casting news came a week after Xbox and Kojima Productions announced that Xbox would publish PHYSINT, extending a relationship that already covered OD. According to Xbox Wire, the two companies are also working together on film and television projects.
