Black Desert adds a guild fame system in its latest PC update

The progression system turns individual play into shared guild bonuses, while the console version receives the Agent class and Hyperboost.

Black Desert has added a guild fame system to the PC version of the sandbox MMORPG, the centrepiece of this week's update, MassivelyOP reports.

The system converts individual player activity into shared guild progression. Members earn fame points that unlock passive benefits for the whole guild, including an accuracy boost against monsters, increased drop rates, additional experience from combat or life skill activities, and upgraded versions of existing passives such as Guru's Touch and the Blessing of Fortune.

The structure means the reward for an individual's play accrues to the group rather than the player who earned it, which is the distinction MassivelyOP draws in describing the feature: activities carried out alone feed a pool the entire guild draws passive bonuses from. Guilds that already coordinate around combat or life skill content therefore have a route to compounding those bonuses.

Guild fame arrives alongside several other guild-facing changes in the same patch: a revamp of war declarations, a guild league focus week event, and a guild recruitment event. Taken together, the update is weighted more heavily towards guild systems than towards individual character progression.

Beyond the guild systems

The rest of the PC patch covers further class balancing, a new boss, and the arrival of an in-game combat analyzer. The update also ends the option to sell ancient hammers and ancient black stones to NPCs.

Black Desert Console received a separate set of additions this week, headlined by the Agent class and the Hyperboost feature. Both were a major part of the PC version's update the previous week, and MassivelyOP reports the console versions are identical to their PC counterparts, with matching events.

  • An adventure log to assist with enhancing Kharazad accessories
  • Reduced difficulty when crafting specific spirit essences
  • Season pass updates
  • More wild horses distributed across the map

The staggered rollout follows the pattern the game has used for other recent features, with console players receiving additions a week after their PC debut.
