NCsoft has announced Reignited, a campaign and content update for Blade & Soul Neo that the publisher says will launch on August 18. The update is headlined by a new playable class and a set of progression changes aimed at shortening the climb for new and returning players.
The class in question is the Warden, which NCsoft says is carried over from Blade & Soul Live, the original version of the game that continues to run alongside the remaster. Reignited also introduces Poharan’s Dungeon, which according to the publisher uses equalized gear and supports time attack and speedrun play — a format that removes character power from the equation and measures clear times instead.
Alongside the new content, NCsoft is opening a boosted server. In its announcement the studio describes the goal as "a faster, cleaner experience," and lists progression improvements covering system updates, growth, skills and in-game guidance. The publisher frames these as reducing friction rather than changing the game’s underlying structure.
Rewards and a crossover
Reignited also carries a rewards track. NCsoft lists pre-registration rewards, mission rewards, a point exchange and digital goods, along with a collaboration with Ruler of the Land that brings in-game cosmetics and a new boss based on the franchise. Pre-registration for the update is already open for players who want the cosmetic rewards attached to it.
Blade & Soul Neo is a remastered version of NCsoft’s long-running martial-arts MMO, which launched last summer. Since then the studio has been steadily re-adding dungeons and classes that existed in the original release, and Reignited continues that pattern rather than breaking from it.
The announcement also breaks a quiet stretch for the franchise. MassivelyOP, which reported the update, noted that it had checked in on both the original Blade & Soul and Blade & Soul Neo the previous week precisely because nothing substantial had come out of the NCsoft IP for some time.
The update goes live on August 18 on both Steam and NCsoft’s own PURPLE platform. Players who pre-register before then receive the associated cosmetic rewards.
