Blizzard nerfs Altar of Fangs in a live Mythic+ tuning hotfix

The hotfixes cut damage and stack values across the dungeon and give groups longer to react to its most demanding abilities.

Blizzard has pushed a round of Mythic+ dungeon tuning that nerfs Altar of Fangs across its trash packs and both of its named encounters, Wowhead reports. The studio said the hotfixes were already live and framed the pass as a readability and reaction-time adjustment, meant to make key abilities easier to read and give players more time to respond during the dungeon's most demanding moments while preserving its intended challenge.

Most of the changes land on trash. Ravenous Descendant's Ravenous now grants 10 percent attack speed per stack rather than 20 percent, and its movement speed bonus is cut by 20 percent. Twinfang Harrower's Paralyzing Shots deals 50 percent less initial damage, Ritual Chieftain's Blood Sacrifice absorb is 10 percent smaller, Caustic Mist Totem's Unstable Totem damage falls 10 percent, and the Ascendant Serpent loses 10 percent of its health outright.

Two adjustments remove a hazard rather than scale it: Venom Leech's Septic Spatter no longer creates a puddle at the leech's corpse, and Bloodletter's Bloodletting procs less frequently. High Evolutionist's Evolve has a longer cooldown, while Envenom and Mass Envenom now take three seconds and 3.5 seconds to cast respectively, up from 2.5 seconds each.

The bosses are tuned as well. Rav'i's Feeding Frenzy no longer increases the rate of Messy Eater and Carrion Burst, Hydrastrike deals 33 percent less damage, and Fresh Meat piles now display a warning visual when Rav'i is close enough to eat from them.

On Zul'jan, the initial cast of Ritual of the Fang now comes a few seconds later in the encounter and takes five seconds rather than four, and Fang Empowered deals 20 percent less damage.

Several of the changes lengthen a cast or add a visual tell instead of deleting a mechanic outright, which is the framing Blizzard used in its own note. Wowhead published the full tuning list.
