Blizzard to restore raid trophies missed at the end of WoW Season 1

A bug denied some players their Vanquisher's Trophies for kills in Season 1's closing hours, and Blizzard says a fixup grant will follow.

Blizzard has confirmed that World of Warcraft players who were denied raid trophies during the final hours of Season 1 will have them granted retroactively, according to a developer post reported by Wowhead on August 10. The studio said at the time that the correction would be applied within roughly a week.

The trophies in question are decor items rather than gear. They are placed inside player housing and serve as a record of raid progress, which is why a missing one cannot simply be re-earned by killing the boss again after a season has closed.

Each raid awards the trophy in one of three finishes tied to difficulty. The silver Argent version is granted for a victory on any difficulty, the gold Aureate version for Heroic, and the glowing gold Gleaming version for Mythic.

Which trophies were affected

Blizzard said the bug hit players who took part in raid kills during the last few hours of Season 1, and listed nine trophies across three encounters that failed to be awarded:

  • March on Quel'Danas Vanquisher's Argent, Aureate and Gleaming Trophies
  • Dreamrift Vanquisher's Argent, Aureate and Gleaming Trophies
  • Voidspire Vanquisher's Argent, Aureate and Gleaming Trophies
We're working on a fixup that will grant the missing Trophies to players who earned them during the impacted timeframe, and we expect to do that grant in the next week or so.

Blizzard did not give an exact date for the grant, describing the timeframe only as the next week or so from the August 10 post. That window has now elapsed, and the studio has not published a follow-up confirming the fixup has been applied. Players who raided in the affected hours and still have empty trophy slots have no action to take under the plan as described, since the grant is being pushed out on Blizzard's side rather than claimed in game.
