Casio is marking Pokemon's 30th anniversary with a new G-Shock built around the franchise's earliest history. The GA-110PKM-7AJR takes the brand's long-running GA-110 case and wraps it in the color palette of the original 1996 Game Boy releases, Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue, while packing in a handful of series-specific design touches across the dial, straps, and case. The watch is set to launch in Japan on July 17, 2026, with reservations opening July 1, and it will also reach the US through select retail channels.
A dial built around Pikachu
The centerpiece of the GA-110PKM-7AJR is a Poke Ball-styled subdial depicting Pikachu from behind, with the character's tail doing double duty as the subdial's indicator hand. The overall case coloring pulls from the red, green, and blue palettes tied to Pokemon's original Game Boy trilogy, tethering the watch's look directly to the franchise's 1996 debut rather than its more recent games.
Straps carrying 30 Pokemon
Casio extended the anniversary theme to the wristbands, which feature 30 different Pokemon spanning generations, from Torchic to Chikorita. Mew is given a specific placement on the watch's loop rather than being folded in with the rest of the strap lineup. The caseback carries its own nod to the anniversary: a Pikachu logo in which the numerals "3" and "0" are shaped to form the character's cheeks.
Packaging shaped like a Poke Ball
The presentation extends to the box itself. The watch ships inside a case shaped like a Poke Ball, the same packaging format Casio and The Pokemon Company have previously used for a line of Pokemon-themed wedding rings. Inside that case, buyers also get printed artwork of all 30 starter Pokemon, effectively bundling a small starter-focused art set alongside the watch.
Pricing and where to buy it
The GA-110PKM-7AJR is priced at 33,000 yen, or roughly $203 at current exchange rates. It goes on sale in Japan on July 17, 2026, with reservations opening two and a half weeks earlier on July 1. Outside Japan, US shoppers will be able to find the watch through G-Shock's New York retail store, a selection of jewelers, and the company's website. The GA-110PKM-7AJR adds to a growing run of Pokemon crossover hardware timed to the franchise's 30th anniversary, funneling references to its original three Game Boy games, its mascot, and its early roster of starters into one accessory.
