Cataclysm Timewalking is live again in World of Warcraft, and the event's quest rewards pay out in gear from The Venomous Abyss, the game's current raid. Wowhead reported the rotation's return, which runs alongside the Winds of Mysterious Fortune buff — an experience boost the site described as an opportunity for players levelling alternate characters.
While the event is active, six Cataclysm dungeons are open to Timewalking queues, where runs award Timewarped Badges and the event's other rewards. Players start by picking up the quest A Shattered Path Through Time from Archmage Aethas Sunreaver in Silvermoon City, or by taking it directly from the Adventure Journal.
Completing five Timewalking dungeons, or killing five raid bosses in Timewalking Firelands, awards a Cache of Quel'Thalas Treasures. That cache contains a Champion-track piece of loot from The Venomous Abyss.
The first Timewalking dungeon a character completes carries a separate reward: its final boss drops a Smoldering Timewarped Ember, which begins a quest worth 500 Timewarped Badges on a first completion and 200 on every completion after that. The quest is handed in to Kiatke, who can be found in both Stormwind City and Orgrimmar.
The Firelands route to Hero-track gear
The higher item-level reward runs through the Timewalking version of Firelands. Vormu, stationed at the Timewalking Hub, offers the quest Disturbance Detected: Firelands, which asks players to defeat the raid's final boss, Ragnaros. Entry is handled by queueing through Vormu rather than travelling to the instance.
Clearing the raid awards a Cache of Timewarped Treasures, which holds a Hero-track piece of Venomous Abyss gear. Wowhead noted the cache can also contain a rare Cataclysm mount, the Smoldering Egg of Millagazor.
Between the two quest chains, the event offers both a Champion-track and a Hero-track piece of Venomous Abyss gear, on top of the Timewarped Badges the dungeon runs and quest turn-ins award.
