Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen’s Week Eight Public Test Realm patch raises the test server’s level cap to 30, introduces Mastery for the Cleric and Druid classes, and includes a major update to the Warrior. Because of the extent of the class ability changes, every character on the Public Test Realm was reset when the update went live.
Cleric: Righteous and Judgement
Cleric Mastery arrives in two branches. Righteous concentrates on the class’s healing side, and the team said specialists in it can become extremely powerful healers supporting their groups. Judgement instead lets a Cleric mete out divine punishment at the cost of some healing power, granting abilities that contribute far more damage to a fight — especially against undead opponents. Many Cleric abilities were adjusted as part of the change, and some abilities previously gained by levelling are now unlocked through mastery instead.
Druid: Preserver and Storm Herald
The Druid follows the same structure. Preserver focuses on healing and support, with potent healing abilities the team said allow Druids to function more effectively as main healers in difficult and challenging encounters. Storm Herald empowers the class’s magical attacks; at high levels, Storm Heralds gain the ability to assume aspects of the storm, which empowers their Call Lightning ability and lets them move instantaneously around the battlefield. As with the Cleric, many Druid abilities were adjusted and some levelling unlocks moved to mastery.
Warrior catches up
Warrior was the first class to receive Mastery and served as the prototype for the system. The team said that after enabling Mastery for testing and working on other classes, this update brings the Warrior in line with them, giving Warrior players considerably more options within their mastery branches. The team also reviewed player feedback on the class as a whole and adjusted many of its base abilities.
The patch shipped with a list of known issues, among them the Shrink ability not shrinking, Nocturnal Eyes being non-functional, the center Mastery circles not yet being usable, mastery bonuses not updating existing ability tooltips, NPCs responding slowly in combat, and standing under the elevator in Wild’s End pushing players under the world. The team also noted it would skip the following week’s Public Test Realm update because of the US holiday, while continuing to fix bugs and add Mastery for the remaining classes.
