Dead by Daylight's first community-created chapter, Chorus of Sin, is now live on the game's public test build, PCGamesN reports. The chapter drops in game on Tuesday, August 25, and brings one new Killer and one new Survivor, each with three perks. It is the first chapter in the game's history to be led by the community rather than built solely in-house.
The Judgement
The new Killer is The Judgement, a corrupted angel figure that PCGamesN describes as a first for the horror game aesthetically. Its golden body and bisected wings read as heavenly, while its legs turn crab-like further down, with faces carved into them. It uses divine light to smite Survivors, and downed Survivors can be transported to Exile, described as a realm of eternal punishment where they must avoid hazards or risk hastening their own demise.
- Celestial Witness vaguely reveals the Obsession's aura from a long distance
- Hex: Under Your Thumb limits Survivor haste after their first hook
- Lay Waste makes damaged generators regress faster the further they have been repaired
Aurora Stardotter
The chapter's Survivor is Aurora Stardotter, a spiritual scientist who has fled one of the worlds The Judgement ravaged. Her kit is built around generator work and speed rather than stealth, and one of her perks directly answers the new Killer.
- Fruits of Your Labor stacks a token for every generator completed, granting haste and increased healing
- Salvation's Cry highlights both her aura and the Killer's to other Survivors while she is being chased
- Boon: Steadfast creates a totem that speeds generator repair and slows regression within its range, countering Lay Waste
Boon: Steadfast is the clearest interaction between the two kits: Lay Waste accelerates generator regression the further a machine has been repaired, while the totem slows regression and speeds repair for anyone working inside its radius.
Chorus of Sin is testable on the PTB now ahead of its August 25 release. Speaking to PCGamesN, Behaviour creative director Dave Richard said the team has "barely started" with the game, which passed its tenth anniversary this year.
