Delta Force has marked its second anniversary with an update that adds Detonation, a 5v5 bomb-defusal mode, PCGamesN reported. The mode has been released in open beta, and Team Jade said adjustments are planned before its full release.
In Detonation, two teams contest a set of sites: attackers work to plant and detonate explosives, while defenders hold their ground and defuse any device that goes down. The free-to-play shooter had not previously carried a mode of that format.
Players who take part during the anniversary celebrations can earn up to 3,900 limited-time Delta Tickets, along with the Golden State Legendary AUG appearance and other anniversary-themed rewards. The first volume of Operator Archives fills in background on the game’s operators, and Operator Quarters, social spaces for players between matches, are planned for early next year.
Two maps on the way
Following the addition of The Mog, another Warfare map built using Unreal Engine 5 features arrives in November. The extraction-based Operations mode is getting a city map, Siege: Valkyrie, in early 2027, which the announcement says introduces new gameplay rules and allows players from multiple difficulty tiers into a single game.
The inner city is opulent but dangerous, while the outer city is shaped by a harsher struggle for survival and resources.
The map description adds that players can choose to extract with what they have found, or push further into the city for a larger payout at greater risk.
What the anniversary window already brought
The anniversary update follows Season Reorientation earlier this month, which carried quality-of-life work including cross-region matchmaking along with reworked menus and tutorials. The Layali Grove Operations map was updated with fishing and jet-ski gameplay, and the Warfare map The Mog added a convoy set piece inspired by Black Hawk Down. Season Meltdown, in June, introduced the Coliseum map together with additional weapons and a transport helicopter.
Delta Force’s RISE esports series holds the first Delta Force Invitational at DreamHack Stockholm from November 27-29, with teams from EMEA and the Americas competing.
