Blizzard has released Diablo 4 patch 3.2.1 hotfix 4, a round of fixes aimed at the exploits and blockers that surfaced during Season 15, the Season of Hell's Legacy. Community manager Rich Bantegui set out the changes in the patch notes, which PCGamesN reported. The hotfix is live now.
The headline fix concerns the season's secret quest to reach old-school Tristram. Players pursuing it found that using Wirt's Lucky Coins to start the climactic boss battle consumed the item without spawning the portal. That encounter is both the season's thematic culmination and one of its most consistent sources of high-tier loot, so the failure removed a major reward path.
Exploits shut down
Blizzard says it has stopped a bug that let players endlessly farm the Prime Evil Council fight, which the studio described as a route to gaining excessive amounts of experience and loot. A cooldown now governs how often the fight can pay out. A narrower exploit that allowed the Butcher to be repeatedly spawned in Nightmare Dungeons has also been removed.
Balance and reward corrections
On the balance side, the Warlock's Fiend of Abbadon was gaining outsized damage multipliers from its Lesser Demon Bonus. That issue has been resolved and the upgrade re-enabled. The Druid's Old Mountain Talisman set bonus no longer stacks repeatedly with Grief, which had amplified damage far beyond intended levels.
Blizzard also addressed cases where Horadric Cube crafting materials were not being handed out as promised by certain Kurast Undercity Tributes. That included Kullean Tuning Prisms, the rare material used to roll additional legendary aspects onto an amulet. The studio says the Resplendent seasonal reputation cache will now reliably award the expected Resplendent Spark, and several class quest progression blockers have been fixed.
PCGamesN characterised Season of Hell's Legacy as a well-received update, combining 30th-anniversary throwbacks with new features, with the exploits and access problems standing out against that reception.
