Blizzard has published patch notes for Diablo 4's next Season 15 update, which the studio has scheduled to go live on Wednesday, September 30. PCGamesN reports the update is almost entirely a bug-fix pass, with a handful of the corrections carrying small consequences for class balance.
Two of the fixes cover places where moving through the world too quickly could leave a character stranded. One of them could break the seasonal questline for players who reached the Worldstone Chamber early. The other blocked dungeon progression in Lester’s Farm, one of the season’s new zones and a callback to the Diablo 1 expansion Hellfire.
Class and item corrections
On the class side, Blizzard has closed an exploit that let the Druid skill Pulverize, in the studio’s words, "indefinitely immobilize" staggered bosses, which could take the challenge out of those fights entirely. The Sorcerer’s Incinerate Enchantment has been adjusted so that its burning damage correctly triggers runes, which it previously failed to do. A separate fix covers cases where the damage reduction from the Sol Rune’s random shrine bonuses was not activating as expected.
Several item problems are also on the list. Henri’s Perquisition, an item that references the Diablo 3 Witch Doctor, could not be crafted in the Horadric Cube and now can. The Chamber of Bone, another callback to the first game, should pay out its rewards more consistently. Blizzard also flagged the Diablo 2-inspired Edge runeword, which it said "allowed gaining two items at a time from the Purveyor of Curiosities" — PCGamesN notes that two-item result is part of the item’s intended effect, and reads the change as targeting how often it was triggering.
The remaining entries are smaller. Nihlathak, a boss returning from Diablo 2, can no longer teleport outside his arena. The Lore runeword helm now appears correctly on an equipped character, and pinned currency in the Stats and Materials tab is highlighted as intended.
The update arrives during Season of Hell’s Legacy, which Blizzard built around the series’ 30th anniversary. An earlier round of fixes had already dealt with bugs that were keeping some players out of fights with the season’s three returning Prime Evils. PCGamesN notes Blizzard may add further fixes or adjustments before the update is deployed.
