Escape from Tarkov studio Battlestate Games opens a publishing arm

Battlestate Games Publishing is taking pitches in any genre and says developers keep 100 percent of their intellectual property.

Battlestate Games, the studio behind Escape from Tarkov, has launched a publishing arm, PCGamesN reported on September 4. The label, which will be known as Battlestate Games Publishing, is still in its early stages, and the company has already put out a call for pitches from outside developers.

Battlestate said the arm is dedicated to bringing detailed, uncompromising, hardcore and immersive ideas to life, and to making hardcore live forever. It set no boundaries on the kind of work it will look at, saying it will consider projects across any genre, single-player or multiplayer, on any platform and in any setting.

What the label says it wants

The studio framed its remit around games other publishers have already passed on, describing the projects it is after in the call for pitches.

other publishers have called too ambitious, too niche, or too risky - the ideas that don't fit a conventional pitch deck

On terms, Battlestate said developers who sign with the label will retain 100 percent of their intellectual property, which the studio said leaves them free to realize their own vision for a project. PCGamesN described the offer as a chance for developers working at the outer edge of gaming.

Submissions are being taken by email, and Battlestate said work at any stage of development can be entered, from an early concept through to a title that has already shipped.

PCGamesN wrote that Escape from Tarkov itself is an uncompromising game, that it is not for everyone, and that its core fans are a dedicated group.
