ESL has set the seeding for ESL Pro League Season 24 from a vote among the participating teams rather than from the Valve Regional Standings, HLTV reported. All 16 teams ranked their opponents, and each team's seed was taken from the average of those rankings with outliers excluded.
Vitality and Aurora gained the most from the method, taking the second and seventh seeds and climbing two and three places respectively against the relevant VRS position. HLTV noted both sides had impressed at StarSeries Fall. MOUZ and 9z were the only teams to fall two places after being ranked by their peers.
The matchups ahead of the Swiss-style group stage were drawn conventionally, pairing the top seed against the bottom one, rather than using the seed-one-versus-seed-nine format the Majors run. That set Argentinian underdogs ShindeN against Spirit and 1win against Vitality.

Ten names on the broadcast team
In a separate announcement, ESL named the talent lineup for the season: Freya "Freya" Spiers, Tres "stunna" Saranthus, Janko "YNk" Paunović, Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill, Alex "Machine" Richardson, Harry "JustHarry" Russell, Hugo "Hugo" Byron, Adam "Dinko" Hawthorne, Jason "moses" O'Toole and Henry "HenryG" Greer. ESL's post did not specify what roles each member would fill, though HLTV expected Spiers and Saranthus to take hosting and sideline duties.
Season 24 runs from October 3 to 11 in Katowice, Poland, and is scheduled to be played entirely on LAN, with the playoffs at the Spodek Arena — the venue that hosted IEM Katowice for many years.
