Fields of Mistria's 1.0 release has made the cozy farming sim from NPC Studio far easier to mod, and the first wave of mods goes after the game's most persistent annoyance: the day ending long before the work does. Polygon rounded up a set of vetted mods made possible by the update's easily-findable files, most of them aimed squarely at how players spend in-game time.
Controlling the clock
Advanced Time Controls, by the modder annanomoly, adds a dial for setting the pace of a day. Fields of Mistria ships with day-length options, but they are limited: the "Longest" setting stretches a day to fifteen minutes, against the usual twelve and a half. With the mod installed, the day can be sped up to 500%, slowed to a half-speed crawl, or set to 0% to freeze time outright, all from an in-game menu a tab away from the outfit screen.
Time of Mistria, by ArchieOwO, offers a similar fix but has been updated less recently, so it may need uninstalling and reinstalling if it starts misbehaving.
Cutting out the walk back
Two other popular mods attack the related problem of time lost to travel rather than time itself. Save Anywhere, also by annanomoly, allows a quicksave anywhere on the map with the Home button, removing the trek back to the farmhouse to save progress. Access Storage Anywhere, by the modder BigManViggo, grants access to storage chests from anywhere on Mistria's map, so a full inventory can be emptied without a return trip — useful before an unplanned run into the mines.
Getting them running
All of these require the Mods of Mistria Installer, or MOMI. Polygon advises setting that up first and getting into the habit of backing up a save before testing any mod. Beyond the time-related set, other mods in circulation are cosmetic or general quality-of-life work, among them a Flowy Hair mod by sunberns and the Just Janes QoL Options pack by Jane1986, which includes a small movement-speed increase.
Fields of Mistria is available on PC via Steam, with full Steam Deck support.
