Epic Games has deployed a new Fortnite update bringing a wave of content across Battle Royale and Festival modes — including five brand-new Sprites with distinct combat perks, a leveling item called Quack Snacks, eight unvaulted weapons, and a celebrity headliner for Festival season.

Five New Sprites, Each With a Distinct Effect

The headline addition is a set of five Sprites, each tied to a specific gameplay perk. The Striker Sprite grants Overdrive when players mantle or hurdle, rewarding aggressive movement. The Fishy Sprite boosts swim speed, opening up new options in water-heavy engagements. The Aura Sprite charges Shock Rock whenever the player takes damage — a defensive perk that rewards resilience rather than aggression. On the tankier end, the Boss Sprite increases maximum health capacity, and the Grim Reaper Sprite marks enemies, adding a tracking utility that can shift squad dynamics in late-game scenarios.

Quack Snacks: A New Way to Power Up Sprites

Alongside the new Sprites comes Quack Snacks, a fresh Battle Royale item that does double duty: it levels up equipped Sprites and heals the player. The dual function makes it a meaningful loot priority, particularly for players running builds that lean on Sprite perks.

Eight Items Return to the Loot Pool

Eight previously vaulted items have been unvaulted and will remain in play through July 9. The full returning lineup is the Lawless Stink Rifle, the Hop Rock Dualies, the Mythic Goldfish, the Flare Gun, the Shield Bubble, the Exotic Slapberry Fizz, the Bush Bomb, and the Big Bush Bomb — a mix of fan favorites that adds both utility and chaos to the current meta.

Dylan Skin Gets Headphone Toggle

A small but notable quality-of-life addition: the Dylan Battle Pass skin now includes a toggle for the character's headphones, giving players more control over the outfit's look.

Festival: Olivia Rodrigo Takes the Stage

Fortnite Festival's current season now features Olivia Rodrigo as the headlining artist. The addition brings new songs and emotes to the mode, continuing Epic's strategy of rotating major-label acts through Festival to drive engagement.

OG Mode Moves to Season 9

The game's OG Mode has advanced to Season 9, centered on a remade Neo Tilted. The reworked area introduces wind tunnels that reshape how players move through and around the POI, emphasizing high-mobility play. The update is live now. The unvaulted weapon window closes July 9, making that the nearest hard deadline for players who want to experiment with the returning loot pool. Datamined content suggests football-themed cosmetics, Samurai Jack, and American Dad collaborations are in the pipeline, though Epic has not confirmed any of those officially.
