FURIA has moved its women's Counter-Strike 2 roster to VALORANT, where the lineup will compete in Riot Games' VCT Game Changers circuit as FURIA VAL Inclusive. Dot Esports described the transfer as the first time a full team has switched games while keeping its existing structure intact.
We came, we saw, and we conquered in Counter-Strike. New scene, same strength. The FURIA CS Fe is FURIA VAL Inclusive! With the love for competition and an insatiable desire to win, the Panther will explore yet another scene, with the same claw as always!
The five players making the move are:
- Karina “kaahSENSEI” Takahashi
- Izabella “izaa” Galle
- Gabriela “gabs” Freindorfer
- Bruna “bizinha” Marvila
- Lucia “lulitenz” Dubra
The roster spent six years under the organisation and established itself as one of the most successful teams in the South American women's scene, winning several regional titles and reaching three ESL Impact League finals before taking the championship in Season 7 at DreamHack Dallas in May 2025.
A circuit that ran out of room
The ESL Impact circuit was placed on indefinite hold at the end of 2025, with the organiser saying the economic model was not sustainable. Several organisations subsequently parted ways with their women's CS2 rosters, leaving fewer opportunities for teams to compete at the highest level. VCT Game Changers, Riot's circuit for women and marginalised genders in VALORANT esports, offers a more stable competitive path.
FURIA Counter-Strike veteran Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo called the move a sad reflection of the state of the women's Counter-Strike scene while backing the decision.
It's a sad snapshot of the failure/lack of interest from both us viewers and Valve/tournaments in making an effort to find alternatives so that the ecosystem could function.
On the other hand, it's great that there's another game where they can keep competing with even higher quality. I think it's a great story and, to be totally honest, I'm curious to see how they'll fare against the girls who've been playing for a long time.
The players keep the structure and chemistry they built together in Counter-Strike, but they now have to adapt to a new shooter and face teams with years of experience in Game Changers.
