FUT have secured a place in the Esports World Cup playoffs, beating MOUZ 2-1 in the Group C upper bracket. MOUZ entered the series as heavy favorites after winning BLAST Bounty with new addition Oldrich "PR" Novy, and now drop to the lower bracket.
FUT set the tone on their own map pick, winning the opening pistol on the attack and building a 10-2 half. Adam "torzsi" Torzsas was the only MOUZ player keeping pace, and FUT closed the map 13-6 seven rounds into the second half.
MOUZ force a decider on Nuke
Starting on the CT side of Nuke with a series lead, FUT again moved ahead early, going up 6-1 behind a Yasin "xfl0ud" Koc 1v2 clutch and taking a six-round lead into the switch. MOUZ won the second-half pistol and stayed within reach despite a Dziugas "dziugss" Steponavicius Desert Eagle quad-kill and an ace with the same weapon from xfl0ud, neither of which FUT converted into momentum in the buy rounds that followed.
Trailing 11-10, Dorian "xertioN" Berman took three in a retake to level the map, and FUT then took the B site for match point. A messy final round pushed Nuke to overtime, where MOUZ dominated to win 16-12 and force a decider.
Mirage slips away from MOUZ
The pattern nearly repeated on Mirage. FUT controlled mid on the CT side and went 11-4 up after a pistol win and a run of conversions, before MOUZ found answers in the fight for mid and worked their way back to level footing with a series of mid-round adjustments. The comeback stalled at the last hurdle, and FUT finished the series.
The through-line across all three maps was FUT starting fast and MOUZ chasing. FUT won the opening exchanges on their own pick, on the CT side of Nuke and again on Mirage, and MOUZ answered each time without ever getting in front early enough to settle the series on their own terms. Nuke was the one map where that persistence paid off in full, and it cost FUT a straight-maps win rather than the series.
MOUZ now face the winner of 100 Thieves against PARIVISION in an elimination match.
