G2 turns its Counter-Strike 2 jersey into a rotating Wizards slot

The long-term partnership starts with Archetype Entertainment's Exodus and will swap in other Wizards of the Coast titles as the deal runs.

G2 Esports has signed a long-term partnership with Wizards of the Coast that turns the organization’s Counter-Strike 2 jersey into a rotating showcase for the publisher’s games, Dot Esports reported. The first slot goes to Exodus, the science-fiction role-playing game in development at Archetype Entertainment, and other Wizards titles are set to replace it as the agreement runs.

The Exodus jersey debuted at the Esports World Cup on August 12, during G2’s opening match against M80. G2 took that best-of-one 13-11 on Mirage, so the design drew immediate broadcast exposure at a Counter-Strike tournament running 32 teams and a $2 million prize pool.

A sponsorship slot that changes hands

The rotating format is what separates the agreement from a conventional jersey sponsorship. Instead of committing the space to one brand, Wizards can use it to promote different releases across the life of the deal, effectively turning G2’s kit into a recurring advertising slot for its games. Neither company has said how often the design will change, or which Wizards property follows Exodus.

Wizards owns Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, and its video game studios include Archetype Entertainment, Invoke Studios and Skeleton Key. The announcement does not confirm that either tabletop brand will appear on a future jersey; for now the rotation is described only as drawing from the wider Wizards portfolio.

The deal joins a partner roster that already includes Red Bull, McDonald’s, Ralph Lauren, Logitech and Herman Miller, alongside betting and gaming companies. G2’s recent entertainment collaborations have covered One Piece and Solo Leveling, the former extending to a full streetwear collection in June.

Why Exodus goes first

Exodus is a single-player action RPG launching in early 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and the Epic Games Store, built around interstellar travel, time dilation and humanity’s evolution roughly 40,000 years in the future. It is also one of the more important projects in Hasbro’s current video game plans: the company has said 2026 would be its peak year for digital game investment, with Exodus and Invoke Studios’ Warlock reaching their final stages of development, before it cuts digital spending by at least 25 percent by 2028. Hasbro recorded a $56 million impairment in July after cancelling several projects planned for 2028 and beyond.
