Hell Let Loose: Vietnam arrives on PC and consoles on Thursday, August 13, Destructoid reports, a date set after an initial delay pushed the shooter back from its original launch plan. The game unlocks worldwide at the same moment rather than rolling out region by region.

Developed by Expression Games, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam recreates the Vietnam War in 50v50 multiplayer battles fought across six large-scale maps inspired by real-world locations. Players pick between two factions, the North Vietnamese Army and the US Armed Forces, each of which plays the war differently.
17 roles across six battlefield units
The role list is the backbone of the game's teamplay, with 17 distinct battle roles split across six units. Command supplies the Commander. Infantry covers Squad Leader, Rifleman, Grenadier, Engineer, Medic, Specialist and Machine Gunner. Recon fields a Spotter and a Sniper, Armour a Tank Commander and Crewman, and the Mortar Squad an Observer, Support and Gunner. Helicopter roles, the Logistics Officer and Pilot, are exclusive to the US side.
Vehicles include helicopters and patrol boats. The North Vietnamese Army can dig tunnels and move forces through them in stealth to ambush US positions, an asymmetry that gives each faction its own approach to the same map.
Modes and onboarding
Alongside the returning Offensive and Warfare modes, the game ships with alternative new modes. Destructoid describes a battlefield that shifts as new events fire during a match, with players expected to identify objectives and work the chain of command to deploy the tactics and weapons suited to each fight.
Expression Games has also reworked the way new players are brought in: the game launches with a revamped tutorial and onboarding flow, enhanced player movement, and an updated interface and user experience over the original Hell Let Loose.
