Helldivers 2 will receive a Warhammer 40,000 crossover on August 12, in the form of a Legendary Warbond called Castellan's Creed. The announcement was published on Xbox Wire, which credits the release to PlayStation Publishing LLC.
The Warbond's equipment is drawn from the Cadian Kasrkin, described in the announcement as an elite Astra Militarum unit in the Warhammer 40,000 setting. Three weapons are listed: the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, a long-range marksman weapon; the P/40-K Bolt Pistol, a sidearm; and the G/40-K Meltamine, a single-use proximity-detonated energy mine that the post says does not distinguish between friendly and enemy footfall.
What the Warbond contains
Alongside the weapons, the Warbond adds a stratagem — the 40-K Meltagun, which calls in a short-range beam of thermal energy — and two armour sets. The heavy-tier TG-122 Demo-Trooper is described as built for breaching fortifications under fire, while the medium-tier TG-8 Sharpshooter is aimed at long-range play. Both carry the True Grit passive, which the announcement says improves weapon handling and support-weapon reload speed.
The remaining contents are cosmetic:
- Capes and player banners: Camo Cloak and City Fighter's Resolve
- Vehicle pattern: Castellan's Green, applied to the Shuttle, Hellpod, FRV and Exosuit
- Player title: Still Standing
The third Legendary Warbond
Castellan's Creed follows two earlier platform-themed Legendary Warbonds: the Xbox-themed Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Warbond and the PlayStation-themed Helldivers 2 x Killzone Warbond. It is unlocked the same way, for 1,500 Super Credits, which Xbox Wire says can be found in-game or purchased separately. Individual items are then redeemed with medals earned through play. The announcement notes that the base game and a degree of campaign progression are required.
The Warbond becomes available from the Acquisitions Panel aboard a player's Destroyer on August 12. Xbox Wire did not say how long it will remain purchasable.
