Jackbox Games has lifted the lid on The Jackbox Party Pack 12, confirming the next entry in its long-running series of browser-based party games will arrive on PS4 and PS5 this fall. The announcement, made via the PlayStation Blog, details five brand-new titles spanning creative writing, rapid-fire word association, team communication, debate, and photo editing. This year's lineup leans into quick thinking and improvisation across a mix of familiar and new formats, with games ranging from greeting-card comedy to the series' first use of camera technology.

We Forgot a Card

The pack opens with "We Forgot a Card," a game built around designing greeting cards for oddball occasions on a tight clock. Players pair stock photos with their own written taglines to land jokes, and the final round ups the ante by having them dream up a talking plush toy to accompany their card. Creative Director Arnie Niekamp summed up the design philosophy behind the game: "Quick, get to the jokes is practically the theme."

MegaPals

Next is "MegaPals," a word-association game where players are handed a single prompt word and race to list as many related terms as they can before time expires. Points come from overlapping with what other players wrote, and later prompts are pulled directly from earlier player submissions, creating a feedback loop within each round. Game Director Alina Constantin said the concept grew out of games like Mind Meld and Contact, "where you try to think alike."

Idol Factions

"Idol Factions" shifts the pack into team territory. Players are split into groups and have to sort words into the correct categories at speed, which means fast, clear communication with teammates becomes essential to winning. Game Director Warren Arnold built the game specifically around that pressure, aiming for a format where "players had to communicate quickly and clearly."

Debate and Switch

"Debate and Switch" drops players into a rowdy town hall setting where they argue for and against absurd hypothetical positions. The game includes character designs for the voting audience from Senior Art Lead Hector M Padilla, and players aren't limited to preset topics — they can write their own debate prompts for the group to argue over.

Hyperface

Closing out the pack is "Hyperface," which has players editing images — either provided stock photos or their own selfies — to match given prompts. It marks the first time a Jackbox Party Pack has incorporated camera functionality directly into a game. Game Director Tim Sniffen described the toolset available to players, who can "smudge, squash, stretch, and draw on their photos." With We Forgot a Card, MegaPals, Idol Factions, Debate and Switch, and Hyperface rounding out the lineup, The Jackbox Party Pack 12 continues the studio's pattern of blending word games, drawing and photo editing, and social back-and-forth into party-friendly formats. Jackbox Games has set a fall 2026 release window for PS4 and PS5, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
