Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, the Jujutsu Kaisen game in development at Vampire Survivors studio poncle, has been delayed to 2027, Polygon reported. The game was revealed in June with a 2026 release target, and its latest trailer confirmed the new year.
Polygon noted that 2027 is also when the next season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime is expected to air.
The game's Steam page describes it as a "survivors royale." Players fight cursed spirits and rival contestants, power up over the course of a match, assemble a loadout and unlock effects that change the rules, with the goal of outscoring opponents and being the last player standing. It supports online matches for eight players and also includes a solo mode.
Polygon described the design as a combination of the escalating roguelike progression of Vampire Survivors with the gradual eliminations of a battle royale. The premise echoes the anime's Culling Games arc, in which powerful sorcerers battle one another in a deadly tournament. As in that arc, a player who reaches 100 points can introduce a new rule to disrupt the other contestants.
What the trailer showed
The new trailer featured several playable characters, including Yuji, Nobara, Megumi, Maki, Choso, Gojo and Yuta, and the game promises more than 20 fighters in total. Bosses including Jogo, Geto and Mahito were shown appearing partway through a round.
Each character has a unique cursed technique that can be triggered once a meter on the left side of the screen fills, clearing out waves of spirits. Defeating common enemies awards experience points, which players spend to upgrade their character for the rest of the round and unlock new skills.
