League of Legends patch 26.16 went live on August 12 with a set of system changes aimed at the bottom lane and the jungle, alongside the usual champion adjustments.
Magic resistance and the jungle
The headline system change adjusts magic resistance for every ADC champion, moving the base value from 30 with 1.3 per level to 33 with 1.1 per level. Tristana, previously on 28 base, is brought in line at 33. Riot Games says the intent is to help marksmen against mages in the early game, and to make a wider pool of AD champions — Akshan and Tristana among them — viable in mid lane while diversifying a jungle currently dominated by AD fighters.
Jungle pets are rescaled toward the same goal, with their damage per attack gaining more from ability power, armour, magic resistance and bonus health than before.
Speaking of a more diverse jungle meta, we are adjusting the way jungle pets scales to help mage and tank junglers against the current AD fighter meta.
Support role quest and champions
The support role quest has been retuned to discourage heavy early-game roaming. Stack consumption now favours last hits over champion combat, and the experience and gold penalty for farming minions outside bot lane rises from 25 percent until level 3 to 33 percent until level 5.
On the champion side, Esports.gg reports buffs for Azir, Gwen and Kennen, nerfs for Bel’Veth, Camille and Poppy, and an adjustment to Nasus. Items and runes also see changes. The patch brings the Faerie Court skin line to Bel’Veth, Gwen and Lulu.
LoL Classic received its own update on the same day, adding Akali, Kennen and Shen to its roster. Skarner’s Energize passive works on structures again in that mode.
The full notes, including the complete champion, item and rune tables, are published by Riot Games; Esports.gg has collected them alongside the LoL Classic list.
