Legacy beat Falcons 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the Esports World Cup in Paris, eliminating the Finn "karrigan" Andersen-led roster in its first LAN event since becoming Major champions, HLTV reports. The South American side advance to the semi-finals, where they will play the winner of Spirit and Vitality.
It is Legacy’s second consecutive win over Falcons in a head-to-head meeting. The previous one came in the grand final of the CS Asia Championships.
Mirage
Legacy took the opening pistol round of the series but were quickly pushed onto the back foot, with Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov producing repeated multi-kill rounds on the AWP for Falcons. Legacy trailed 5-7 going into the second half.
The sides swapped and the map did too. Legacy won the second-half pistol round, turned the deficit into a lead and kept Falcons at arm’s length for the rest of the map, finishing it 13-7 for the first map Falcons had dropped in Paris.

Legacy again moved in front early, this time from the CT side, but a pistol-round plant funded a second-round buy for Falcons that opened a 3-1 lead. A hold from Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira on the B site steadied Legacy, who won six of the next seven rounds behind Argentine AWPer Santino "try" Rigal to lead 7-5 at the change of sides.
A fourth pistol-round win out of four extended the lead, but Legacy could not repeat the runaway second half they had managed on Mirage. Falcons took two rounds with all five players alive and then strung five together to move a round in front.
With the score level at 10-10, a double opening kill from Bruno "latto" Rebelatto put Legacy back ahead, and a two-kill AWP round from try in a late 2v2 gave them map point. They converted it one round later to close out the series.
