Legacy have taken the first grand final place at FISSURE Playground 3, coming through a series against MIBR that ran the full distance and finished in an overtime decider on Inferno. The win was built on a run of rounds in which Legacy were outnumbered and won anyway.
HLTV's report has Legacy taking the opening map on Nuke, MIBR answering on Ancient, and Inferno going to overtime as the decider. MIBR were left to rue a run of rounds in which they held a multi-man advantage and could not convert, and the series ended on one of them: a 2v5 on the B bombsite that Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira closed out with a quad-kill. It was the last of several disadvantages Legacy overturned across the three maps.
Two clutches turned Nuke
Nuke had been in MIBR’s grasp before Legacy won two more unlikely rounds on the lower bombsite. A 2v5 at 7-9 and a 1v2 clutch from Andrei "arT" Piovezan at 10-10 swung the momentum of the map, according to HLTV.
Ancient ran the other way. Legacy built a 9-4 lead before MIBR came back on the second-half impact of Lucas "nqz" Soares and Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, levelling the series and forcing a third map. It was the only map of the three that MIBR took.
tomaszin’s best map was not enough
On Inferno, Tomas "tomaszin" Corna produced what HLTV described as his strongest map yet in a MIBR jersey. His work on the A bombsite was ultimately undone on the other site, and the map went to overtime before Legacy closed it out.
The result put Legacy into the grand final, which HLTV listed for September 13 against the winner of the BETBOOM and G2 semi-final. Legacy went into that match having won back-to-back CS Asia Championship titles, chasing another trophy on Chinese soil.
