Diablo 4's Season of Hell's Legacy went live more than six hours after its scheduled start, Eurogamer reported, after login problems left the game inaccessible for much of launch day. Blizzard presented the season at BlizzCon 2026, held the weekend before launch, and it was set to arrive alongside a celebration of the Diablo franchise's 30th anniversary.
According to Eurogamer, players reported a number of login errors, with codes 300006 and 300008 the most common. Blizzard's Diablo account on X first acknowledged the problem, saying the team was investigating an issue that kept some players from getting into the game and was working to fix it as quickly as possible.
Two hours later, the same account posted a second update saying the team was still working through the launch issues and that the season had been pushed back.
As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed.
Eurogamer reported that Diablo 4 was entirely inaccessible throughout that period and for hours afterward. Roughly two more hours passed before Blizzard confirmed that the login issues had been resolved, though some game features had to be temporarily disabled. The season ultimately went live more than six hours late.
What the season adds
Season of Hell's Legacy is Diablo 4's new live-service season and doubles as the series' 30th-anniversary celebration. It brings back Deckard Cain, a character who has appeared in almost every Diablo game, to lead players through a quest against all three Prime Evils: Baal, Mephisto and Diablo. According to Eurogamer, that quest recreates several memorable moments from earlier games in the series.
The season also introduces nine Legacy Unique items inspired by their classic counterparts, along with a range of other changes and adjustments.
The launch coincided with Diablo 4's release on Nintendo Switch 2, which meant the outage was the first experience of the game for players on that platform, Eurogamer noted.
Blizzard also used BlizzCon 2026 to announce that Diablo 2's Amazon class is coming to Diablo 4 as a paid pack in the first half of 2027. At the same show, it announced Diablo 5, due in 2029, and an animated Diablo series for Netflix.
