According to Polygon, a Doctor Doom DLC is coming to Marvel Cosmic Invasion this fall. The DLC, titled The Siege of Castle Doom, will feature Doctor Doom in an all-new game mode and include two new playable characters. Developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu announced the DLC, but did not specify who the new characters will be or if Doctor Doom will be playable.
The Siege of Castle Doom will be Marvel Cosmic Invasion's second DLC, following a character pack that added Cyclops and The Thing to the game earlier this summer. The game currently has a roster that includes Marvel staples like Spider-Man and Wolverine, as well as lesser-known characters like Phyla-Vell and Beta Ray Bill. Polygon reports that the game has been well-received, with an 84% Critics Recommend score on OpenCritic.
Polygon's Michael McWhertor wrote in his review that Marvel Cosmic Invasion is 'a simple, easy-to-pick-up, enjoyable-to-replay action game — ideally played cooperatively'. The game's upcoming DLC is set to arrive ahead of Doctor Doom's appearance in December's Avengers: Doomsday, where he will be played by Robert Downey Jr.
