Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is listed as unavailable for purchase in 132 countries in Steam’s backend data, Rock Paper Shotgun reported on 6 July — a pattern the site compared directly to the region locking that affected Helldivers 2.
Rock Paper Shotgun attributed the restriction to PlayStation’s account-linking requirements on PC, the same issue that produced country restrictions on Helldivers 2.
Sony had eased its PC account rules
The report noted that PlayStation had stopped insisting that PC players link a PSN account, a change that followed the reaction to Helldivers 2. Its argument was that the country restrictions now visible on Marvel Tokon’s Steam listing suggest that change has not carried through to the new release.
The listing sits within a wider shift in how Sony approaches PC. The company has opted to stop bringing its single-player titles to the platform going forward, while remaining committed to porting its online games there in order to raise player counts. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls falls into the second category.
The figure of 132 countries comes from the game’s Steam backend listing rather than from a statement by Sony or the game’s developers.
