EA Sports has revealed the 27 highest rated men's and women's players in EA Sports FC 27, Video Games Chronicle reports. The ratings reveal is an annual fixture for the series, formerly published as FIFA, and reliably sets off argument among players about who has been over- or under-rated.
Two players share the top of the men's list on 91: Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid and Erling Haaland of Manchester City, both strikers. Behind them, a block of players sits on 90, including Manchester City's Rodri, Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha, Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Michael Olise, Barcelona's Pedri and Lamine Yamal, and Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois and Jude Bellingham.
The women's list
Alexia Putellas, now at London City Lionesses, tops the women's ratings on 91. Three players follow on 90: Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati, Manchester City's Khadija Shaw, and a group on 89 that includes Barcelona's Caroline Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina, Arsenal's Mariona, and Kansas City Current's Temwa Chawinga.
Barcelona are the most heavily represented club across the women's top 27, with several players in the 87 to 90 band, while the rest of the list is spread across Arsenal, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and a set of NWSL sides including Gotham FC, Portland Thorns and Orlando Pride.
Ratings are not final
The figures describe the game as it will stand at launch rather than for the whole of its life. EA issues squad updates through the year, including after transfer windows, and those updates can move a player's rating in either direction. A number that looks settled in September is routinely different by the spring.
