Captain America leads Marvel Tokon's newly formed Avengers, with Shuri carrying the Panther mantle and Hulk raging out of the Savage Land.

The Fighting Avengers were the third of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' five squads to be revealed, announced at EVO Japan 2026 in Tokyo via the PlayStation Blog. Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther all made the July 24-26 open beta's 16-fighter roster; Hulk is the lone Avenger waiting for the Aug. 6 launch. At the time of the reveal, the game's playable show-floor build had grown to 13 characters and five stages, with demo stops at Combo Breaker 2026 in Chicago and Hong Kong Comic Con to follow.

A new mantle and a gamma gauge

The headline twist is under the Panther helmet: this game's Black Panther is Shuri (voiced by Erica Luttrell), who recently inherited the mantle while serving as Wakanda's chief scientist. She fights acrobatically with the Spear of Bashenga, using the Bast's Blessing mobility skill for multi-directional dashes, poking from mid-range before overwhelming up close. Hulk (Fred Tatasciore) gets his own reinvention — exiled to the Savage Land and armored in dinosaur bone, he builds a Gamma Gauge as his rage grows; at full capacity he enters Gamma Rage, gaining the strength and speed to overpower opponents at any range.

Captain America (Brian Bloom) anchors the team as an all-rounder, zoning with a ricocheting shield throw and breaking through defenses with hyper-armor-shattering shield strikes. Iron Man fights from mid-range with a projectile arsenal and aerial options, blending rushdown and zoning into mixup-heavy pressure.

The squad's reveal also introduced the game's overarching antagonist framing: the Challenge of the Champion, a tournament staged by the Champion of the Universe, a cosmic Elder of the Universe seeking worthy opponents. The newly assembled Avengers enter it under Captain America's leadership, with their home stage — Wakanda — playable in the beta, which runs July 24 through July 26 Pacific Time on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store ahead of the Aug. 6 launch.
