Meet the Samurai Outriders, Marvel Tokon's antihero squad

The Samurai Outriders were the fifth and final squad revealed for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, closing out the 20-character roster with a trailer at EVO 2026 on June 28. Ghost Rider had been announced individually earlier; the PlayStation Blog reveal completed the team with Blade, Loki, and Deadpool — a group of dark heroes that, per producer Takeshi Yamanaka, does not start out as anything resembling a cohesive unit.

Four antiheroes, one Asgard

This Ghost Rider is Robbie Reyes (voiced by Giancarlo Sabogal), whose kit revolves around the Vengeance Gauge — a tachometer-style meter that raises his hit counts and damage as it builds but leaves him exposed if it maxes out — backed by long-range chain and scythe attacks, hellfire, and a summonable Hellcharger. Blade (Imari Williams) pairs the demon-slaying sword Muramasa with machine guns and glaives, pinning opponents with a thrown Heartstopper stake to close distance instantly; the blade glows red once its sealed power is released. Loki (Jason Spisak), attempting to turn over a new leaf as a hero, fights through feints, counters, illusions, and ice magic — high reward, heavily punishable. And Deadpool (Nolan North) leans on the healing factor he owes to the Weapon X program, mixing guns, grenades, swords, and self-damaging gambles, aided by a strategy guide from beyond the fourth wall that grants moves winking at classic fighting games.

Their home stage is Asgard, which spans five distinct battle areas: the Observatory, the Bifrost Bridge, the Throne Room, the Treasure Vault, and Yggdrasil, the World Tree. It sits out the current test, as do half the Outriders — only Ghost Rider and Blade made the July 24-26 open beta's roster, with Loki and Deadpool holding out for launch.

With the Outriders' two beta entrants counted, the test's 16 fighters resolve neatly across the five squads: the full Unbreakable X-Men and Amazing Guardians, three Fighting Avengers, three Knights of Doom, and two Samurai Outriders. The complete roster assembles when the four-on-four tag fighter from Arc System Works, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel Games launches Aug. 6 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
