Method take the world first Mythic Vashnik the Malignant kill

Eleven pulls carried Method through the halfway boss of the Venomous Abyss Race to World First.

Method have taken the world first kill on Mythic Vashnik the Malignant, putting the guild on the board in the Venomous Abyss Race to World First. Wowhead, which is running coverage of the race, described the kill as a surprisingly clean one and reported that it took Method only 11 pulls.

Vashnik is the halfway boss of the Venomous Abyss, so the kill marks the midpoint of the race rather than its conclusion. Wowhead framed the result as the point at which the question becomes which guild pulls ahead over the second half of the instance.

The composition Method used

Method brought a 20-player group split two tanks, four healers, five melee and nine ranged, according to the class breakdown Wowhead published alongside the kill.

  • Tanks: two Blood Death Knights
  • Healers: one Holy Paladin, one Holy Priest, one Restoration Shaman, one Preservation Evoker
  • Melee: two Arms Warriors, two Assassination Rogues, one Windwalker Monk
  • Ranged: two Balance Druids, two Beast Mastery Hunters, one Arcane Mage, one Demonology Warlock, two Devastation Evokers, one Devourer Demon Hunter

That split leans on ranged damage, at nine ranged players to five melee. Method doubled up rather than taking one of each specialisation: two Blood Death Knights on the tanks, two Arms Warriors and two Assassination Rogues in melee, and two Balance Druids, two Beast Mastery Hunters and two Devastation Evokers at range. The four healers came from four different classes, Paladin, Priest, Shaman and Evoker.

Wowhead credited Warcraft Logs with the boss images accompanying its report, and noted that Warcraft Logs is running its own real-time coverage of the race alongside Wowhead's.
