Microsoft has published the full achievement list for Gears of War: E-Day, GameSpot reported, following a Steam leak that had already surfaced achievement data for several upcoming games.
The list spans the campaign, the Horde Siege co-operative mode and Versus multiplayer. Most campaign achievements are worth 15 Gamerscore and are tied to progress through the game's five acts, with further 15-point awards for co-op completion, secondary objectives, collectibles and the game's Hard Cases.
The long tail
The heaviest awards sit at the end of the list. "Dead Serious" is worth 85 Gamerscore, the most of any single achievement in the game, and requires a 100 percent campaign completion on the highest difficulty, Insane, plus 25,000 Versus kills, the maximum player level and four maxed classes. "For Whom The Bell Tolls" is worth 75 and asks for an Insane campaign clear with every side mission and hidden item.
Several 25-point entries sit beneath them, including "Today We Are Canceling the Apocalypse" for an Insane campaign clear, "I WILL MASSACRE YOU" for 50,000 Horde Siege kills, and "Got Your Wings" for re-upping for the final time.
A Smash Mouth reference
One of the 25-point entries is named "HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR…" and unlocks at 25,000 Versus kills — the same threshold "Dead Serious" requires. The name quotes Smash Mouth's "All Star," the song used in 2001's Shrek. Both Xbox and the film mark their 25th anniversaries this year.
Other names lean on the same register, among them "Relax. I'm the Map." for finding every Hard Case, "I Am Heavy Weapons Guy" for killing 10 enemies in a row with a single detached turret, and "Best I Can Do Is a Pizza Party" for completing 100 secondary objectives in Horde Siege.
Gears of War: E-Day releases on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with early access from October 1 for players who buy a higher-tier edition. It joins Xbox Game Pass at launch.
