Bellring Games has published a content roadmap for Mistfall Hunter covering the extraction game's first two seasons, a week after launch. Destructoid reports the game reached one million players in that first week, though Rock Paper Shotgun cautions the figure does not appear to represent one million sales.
The headline addition is a solo mode for the Brandrgarde map, which the developer says has been the most requested feature since release. Destructoid notes the absence of one at launch contributed to a Mixed user rating on Steam.
Since our official launch, we've received an overwhelming amount of feedback requesting a Solo Mode for Brandrgarde. Following intensive discussions and preliminary development over the past few days, we can now confirm that we'll be introducing Solo Mode for both the Normal and Cataclysm difficulties of Brandrgarde in the middle of Season 1 in September.
The studio was explicit about the trade-off involved, writing that adding two new modes "will inevitably split the matchmaking queue and present fresh class balance challenges in solo play". It said it would continue to evaluate those factors and share its findings with players before making further adjustments.
The season one rollout
The roadmap divides season one into three phases. The first introduces an Einherjar mode, on which the developer has released few details, alongside seasonal tasks and the Soul Harvest — an activity in which players gather soul cocoons, take on an enemy called the Soulgnawer and enter a multiplayer showdown. A dedicated shop offers collectibles, soul coins and moonlight nectar.
Phase two brings the full roster of season tasks, letting players unlock the rare pouch and a Nether Ferry skin through the character Pip. The Brandrgarde solo mode arrives in this phase, together with an Underlord speed challenge that grants bonus rewards for killing Underlords quickly.
Phase three adds a new monster, the Golden Woodling, and a random match event called the Ancestor Tree. Bellring Games is also distributing a thank-you pack to mark the million-player milestone, containing items including Standing Post: Spellcasting and five Moonlight Nectar.
Rock Paper Shotgun describes the community around the game as healthy but currently fairly critical, with players moving through what it characterises as Elden Ring-inflected extraction fantasy environments.
