MOUZ beat PARIVISION to reach the Esports World Cup playoffs

The 2-0 win in the Group C lower bracket semi-final was closed out 13-10 on Inferno.

MOUZ are through to the Esports World Cup playoffs after a 2-0 win over PARIVISION in the Group C lower bracket semi-final, HLTV reports. The scoreline was built on two strong opening halves, and survived a late PARIVISION push on Inferno that came up three rounds short.

Dust2 goes one way

PARIVISION found no answer on their own Dust2 pick. MOUZ started on the CT side and took the half 9-3, with Adam "torzsi" Torzsas and Lotan "Spinx" Giladi leading the way in the stats, before Dorian "xertioN" Berman made his impact on the attack to help close the map out 13-4.

Inferno comeback falls short

Dennis "sycrone" Nielsen’s side did not skip a beat on Inferno. This time starting on the attack, MOUZ put up double digits before the switch in what HLTV described as a dominating display of force, leaving PARIVISION 10-2 down and needing an unlikely defensive run.

The Russian squad stopped the bleeding immediately after the sides swapped, winning the pistol round and slowly clawing rounds back. The run needed heroics to stay alive: in the 22nd round, Evgenii "FL1T" Lebedev denied xertioN what could have been a game-winning clutch, keeping PARIVISION in the map for one round longer.

It was not enough. The gap proved too big to bridge, and MOUZ shut the comeback down in the 23rd round to take Inferno 13-10 and with it the series. The win books MOUZ a place in the Esports World Cup playoff bracket, while PARIVISION’s run through the lower bracket ends a step short of one.
