MOUZ edge 3DMAX in triple overtime to reach BLAST Bounty semis

A messy Dust2 loss and a three-overtime Nuke gave way to a 13-3 Inferno rout as MOUZ booked their semi-final place.

MOUZ have reached the semi-finals of the BLAST Bounty Season 2 Finals after a three-map win over 3DMAX, recovering from a 10-13 defeat on Dust2 to take Nuke 22-18 and Inferno 13-3.

HLTV reports that the series turned on errors rather than on either side pulling clear. MOUZ squandered several advantages and repeatedly lost rounds to pistol and low-buy sides across the opening two maps, a pattern that cost them the first map outright and nearly the second.

On Dust2, 3DMAX targeted MOUZ newcomer Oldrich "PR" Novy on the B site and converted the opening pistol into a 4-0 start. According to HLTV, the French side held PR to a 2-8 K-D and led at the half. MOUZ narrowed a 9-5 deficit by punishing Kevin "misutaaa" Rabier on B, but a saved AK and four USPs let Jeremy "Kursy" Gast take a quad kill and a 1v2 that sealed the map at 13-10.

Nuke followed a similar script before running to three overtimes. Force-buy rounds dominated the opening exchanges, and HLTV describes MOUZ again conceding rounds to saved rifles and pistol sides as 3DMAX took control of the half. MOUZ levelled the map at 9-9 after denying Filip "Graviti" Brankovic a 1v4 clutch, then let 3DMAX reach match point in regulation before forcing extra rounds.

Adam "torzsi" Torzsas recovered a 2v4 in the first overtime to put MOUZ on map point, and 3DMAX answered with a 2v5 of their own to force a third. Adrian "xelex" Vincze ended it there with a quad kill and a 1v3 clutch in back-to-back rounds.

Inferno was one-sided. HLTV credits calling from Dorian "xertioN" Berman and fragging from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and PR for a decider MOUZ controlled from the start.

The team was tested mentally in the series and did not play to its level on the first two maps.

The result puts MOUZ into the last four of the Season 2 Finals. 3DMAX, who had qualified for the Malta finals earlier in the season, exit at the quarter-final stage.
