BetBoom are out of the Esports World Cup after a 2-0 defeat to Ninjas in Pyjamas in Paris, HLTV reports. The series was decided by Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara, who finished with 49 frags, 126 ADR and a 2.34 rating across the two maps.
The exit closes a difficult run for a roster that reached 12th in the HLTV world rankings after making the playoffs at IEM Cologne. According to HLTV, BetBoom have struggled to justify that ranking since bringing Pavel "S1ren" Ogloblin back into the lineup in place of Timur "FL4MUS" Marev this season.

NIP took the series on Nuke and Anubis, with the pace of Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer's T sides giving BetBoom little room to settle. On the second map BetBoom fell 9-3 behind after three one-sided halves in a row, and a 1v3 from Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko started a fightback that never quite arrived: xKacpersky kept fragging on the B site while Roman "n0te" Hamze was left exposed on A.
The performance answered questions that had built around the former HLTV Prospect number one, whose form had dipped at CAC and the XSE Pro League and who had a poor opener against Legacy a day earlier. He rated 2.70 on the first map, described by HLTV as comfortably his best map at Big Events, and followed it with a 2.12 rating over a 24-round second map, ending the series with a +11.7% swing.
xKacpersky is just trusting his gut feeling. He was everywhere on Anubis, nobody even knew he aced. When he is comfortable and trusts what he is doing, everything works.
NIP now meet Astralis with a playoff place on the line. The match pits Martin "stavn" Lund against his former organisation, with six Danish players on the server.
